7-Up vs. Coke Part 2
Heir to a fortune, Andrew Gladney went from John Burroughs to Yale and came home to found the dot-com darling Savvis Inc. Then he squandered it all. The spectacular flameout of a St. Louis soft-drink scion.

'Naut So Bad
Continued from page 1
Published: July 18, 2007"He came in, he fucking rocked," Vehige recalls of a tryout rehearsal. "We're trying to play it cool. We're not going to be like, 'Hey you're in the band' right away. He's like, 'Well you know, just call me if you guys decide I'm going to be in the band.' He walks out the door and we're like, 'He's in the band.'"
The quartet's comfortable interactions reflect that instant chemistry. Vehige describes the band as "a family of four" and that's the most concise (and correct) summary of the Hibernauts around.
"Me and Jack, we've been together fourteen years playing music," McArthur says. "Within a month [of the current lineup being together], it's like, we've never really had any situation before where it was such a tight-knit group of guys [and] great friends."
As Ramsey puts it: "It used to be the Jack and Tom show, the Hibernauts. Now it's like a band."
"I know Gentleman Auction House, Eric [Enger] shows up with a song written and basically doles out parts to play," Stevens adds. "Some of my favorite bands are like that like Spiritualized, it's basically one guy that's conducting the whole thing. I would hate to be in a band like that. I like the democracy of this band.
"This band is just totally based on...I don't know, synergy I guess, for lack of a better term," he concludes. "None of us are very good, but...the sum is greater than its parts."

Is it wrong to wanna live vicariously through Annie Zaleski?
Or is it wronger to wanna BE Annie Zaleski, so's I can sit around some hip St. Louis hang and get to know those Hibernauts boys?
Or better (or worse), yet, is it wrong to demand a floor space and a sleeping bag at Annie Zaleski's crib, along with dinner with those Hibernauts boys followed by some sort of private house concert at same said crib?
If this is all wrong....I don't wanna be right...
