What becomes a gossip columnist most?

Ms. Day is a known friend to all dogs, and she loves them and their ways almost unconditionally. But let's face it: Even the best pups have faults. They drink from toilets and lick our faces, and more important, canines, as a species, aren't that great at keeping up with dates. They can't recall our birthdays (or theirs, for that matter), they often mail their credit-card payments in late, and they always forget about the pet version of Mardi Gras. So humans, let's band together this pre-Lenten season and help the pooches remember that today is the annual Beggin' Strips Barkus Pet Parade. We just can't let them miss the 7,999 other pets to sniff (approximately), the 79,999 new people to get a whiff of (give or take) and the fun costume parade at 1 p.m.! Bring your doggy buddies (and other pets) to Menard Street and Allen Avenue in Soulard at 10 a.m. to help them get registered, or visit www.begginstrips.com to sign them up ahead of time. Participation costs $10, which you'll probably have to front for your four-legged friends, and proceeds benefit the Open Door Animal Sanctuary.
