A blue morpho isn't a drink even though it sounds like some devilish trick of mixology. The Common Blue Morpho is actually a butterfly. A big blue butterfly with mottled brown "eyes" on the underside of its wings; it looks like a CGI creation, except not obviously fake. If you want to feel like you're in the Lost World, there will be more than 1,000 of the iridescent beauties looping and soaring in the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House (15193 Olive Boulevard, Chesterfield; 636-530-0076 or www.butterflyhouse.org) this month for March Morpho Mania. At 1 p.m. every Saturday, five times the normal quantity of the insectobirds are released into the conservatory to go hunting for banana juice — the morpho in the wild will suck the juice from an animal carcass, but the Butterfly House's morphos are strictly vegetarian. It's a great date, and it's cheap: Tickets are $4 to $6. The Butterfly House is open Tuesday through Sunday, but the large-scale release is Saturday only.
Saturdays. Starts: March 1. Continues through March 31, 2008
