The current trend of “going green” has resulted in many convenient products that do less harm to the environment, but still come in land-fill ready packaging. But there is a better way to keep a tidy home: Cheryl Hoard (of Cheryl’s Herbs in Maplewood) can teach you to make earth-friendly household cleaners from herbs and essential oils. Tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. at Home Eco (4611 Macklind Avenue), Hoard leads a free class in Botanical Household and Cleaning Products that will teach you how to make dish soap, laundry detergent, all-purpose cleaner and other useful products from sustainable, natural materials.
