Sort of like that little blue box from Tiffany’s, a glimpse of Companion Bakehouse's signature blue bag holds the promise of untold delights within. You already know Companion’s breads are wonderfully crusty on the outside, soft on the inside, its dessert case is mesmerizing and its decadent grilled cheese Thursdays are the highlight of any week. But did you know you can also enjoy a glass of wine or a tasty beer with your sandwich or dessert? Yes, indeed. Familiarize yourself with the wine list at 7 p.m. this evening at the Companion Wine Tasting at the Central West End Companion Bakehouse (4651 Maryland Avenue). Official Companion sommelier Tina Vass provides background on the varietals and then pairs fine wine samples with tasty Companion Bakehouse foods. The cost is $25 per person and space is limited.
