Simon Doonan has made a career out of being right. As the Creative Director of Barneys New York, Doonan has combined a razor-sharp aesthetic sense with an acidic wit to create a style so pervasive that even a hack Midwestern writer wearing $15 pants and a decade-old sweatshirt knows what Barneys is and (even more unexpectedly) who Doonan is.
